What Is The Marketing Funnel [INFOGRAPHIC]?
The marketing funnel is a strategic approach to inbound marketing that moves your audience into the awareness stage and then walks them closer to your brand and becoming customers.
Top of Funnel
The role of the top of the funnel is to turn a cold audience into a warm audience. Creating awareness of your business is usually done with SEO and content marketing or through paid advertising or pay-per-click. SEO is free and generates long term consistent traffic but takes longer to build. Pay-per-click provides instant traffic but it costs money and instantly stops when you stop paying for it.
Middle of Funnel
The middle of the funnel is where you generate brand followers. This can be done by building demand for your products or services with brand marketing, content marketing, video marketing, and retargeting. The middle of the funnel is also where you generate leads with lead generating content, free trials, or free downloads. As you build your follower list, you can continue marketing to them at a deeper level as they approach the bottom of the funnel.
Bottom of Funnel
The bottom of the funnel is where customers are made. Using email marketing, retargeting ads, case studies, and sales integration, you can walk each visitor closer into a purchasing decision with your brand.
